Dear Whyville Parent,
As a proud parent of a Whyvillian, I'm sure you've heard a lot about our town. You must've seen your Whyvillian's carefully designed face, heard about our clam economy, watched your child participate as a citizen in our little town.
Lately, you may also have heard from your Whyvillian that Whyville is busy all the time, so busy that sometimes your child can't even get on.
Well, that's exactly what's been happening. In Sept 2001, the population of Whyville crossed the 100,000 mark. October, 2003 saw our 500,000 th registered citizen. This March, for Whyville's fifth birthday, Whyville's population was close to 750,000. Every day, more than 25,000 children from around the world visit us. With our popularity ever increasing, we're just not able to keep up with the growth.
We have finally come to recognize that for Whyville to grow, improve, and continue to be the most creative environment on the Internet where children can learn, play, and meet friends from around the world safely, we need the help of our members.
By purchasing a Why-Pass, you'll be doing just that. All proceeds will go towards maintaining, improving, and growing this town. Your child will also receive priority access to Whyville. He/she won't have to wait around when our server is too busy and end up surfing the Web aimlessly.
As is the Whyville Way, we want to listen to our Whyvillians and let them tell us how much Whyville means to them. And we've received a lot of heart-warming feedback from our citizens and their parents:
